International Auto Shows
As part of its plan to launch new models under its Samand brand, major Iranian car manufacturer Khodro, intends to use the Istanbul Auto Show 2008, which will be held on Oct 10th to 19th at the CNR Expo Centre, to exhibit its new offerings.
The General Manager of MYS Otomotiv, the Turkey distributor of Samand, said that the company plans to exhibit a new limousine model, Sarir, as well as a another new car, the ‘Soren,’ during the 2008 Istanbul Auto Show.. He went on to say that while the new limousine fills a void in the Turkish market, they were also hoping to make an impact with the Soren, adding that both models will be put on sale at end of the auto show.
There is a growing interest in Samand vehicles in Turkey. Introduced into Turkish market last year, there is a strong indication that Turkish consumers would find these two new models appealing, especially the new Soren. Although prices for the new vehicles will be announced during the fair, Hotels and coporations have already begun requesting the Sarir. The limousine has many security and comfort features, such as ABS brake systems, a TV, a DVD player, an MP3 player, remote-controlled central lock system and parking distance sensors as standard. The new Iranian limousine is also set to gain traction in the expanding luxury limo hire business in Turkey as well.
Hoping to raise cash for the Palestinian cause and hoping to tap into anti-American sentiment an enterprising Muslim, ‘Tawfik Mathlouthi,’ inspired by the Iranian Zam Zam Cola, launched Mecca Cola. Now, there is an Iranian limousine! Strange as it may seem that a strict Muslim country is seemingly following the western world’s decadence and succumbing to its indulgences, the cars are probably being made in China for the Iranian company. A manufacturing agreement was signed in 2005 for China to make the cars for the parent company.
Notwithstanding their country of origin, the cars do boast some impressive features. Although it is interesting to note, that for a major oil exporter like Iran, the cars have modest engines sizes, as opposed to their thirsty American counterparts. Proof that limo travel is growing in popularity all over the world – even in Turkey.
Once, while it was reserved for only special occasions like weddings and celebrations, limo hire is becoming used more and more for things like corporate transportation and airport transfers to and from a client’s hotel. In the UK, if you need a limo, contact HireLimos.
